Born and raised in Buford, Georgia, Sheila Bailey, known professionally as Sheila B., is an authentic country girl whose roots run deep in the community she proudly calls home. Growing up in a small Southern town instilled in her a love for faith, family, hard work, and storytelling.  The same values that continue to shape every film she creates. Today, she is an award-winning filmmaker, author, director, producer, and founder of Sheila B. Productions, dedicated to preserving history and telling stories that matter.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, devoted wife, mother of two, and the cherished "GeGe" and "NanaBee" to her grandchildren, Sheila's life has been defined by resilience. As a survivor of military sexual assault, domestic violence, and cANCER, she has transformed some of life's most difficult chapters into a mission to inspire, educate, and bring hope through film.

Sheila's passion for storytelling began in the eighth grade with a poem titled "Sonny the Bee." Years later, that passion evolved into her debut memoir, Willow Silent Cries, a deeply personal account of her childhood and early adulthood. Through honest and heartfelt storytelling, she invites readers into experiences that are both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Her journey into film began in front of the camera with We Are One (2013), followed by acting roles in The Interview (2018) and Second Birthday (2019). It wasn't long before she discovered her true calling behind the camera, where she could bring untold stories to life with authenticity and purpose.

Today, Sheila is recognized for creating films that preserve history, celebrate community, and inspire meaningful conversations. Her award-winning projects include The Tree, LuElla's Quilt, Home for Christmas, Back To You, MY BEAUTIFUL DAY and the upcoming Black.Buford. Series, a documentary collection dedicated to preserving the rich history and legacy of Black Buford.

Whether she's telling the story of a senior's cherished memories, a Black cowboy love story, or the history of her hometown, Sheila's work is rooted in one simple belief:
